John Lawrie Decom, working in partnership with energy logistics specialist, Peterson, has recently launched its latest decommissioning facility at Aberdeen Harbour’s Pocra Quay.

This new facility will enable the steel tubulars, metal recycling and decommissioning company to offer oil and gas Operators an Aberdeen based location for the reception, dismantling and processing of oilfield structures and subsea infrastructure. This new facility has the necessary SEPA approvals to allow it to accept material across the Peterson quayside.

With current strategically located licensed facilities in Aberdeen, Shetland, Evanton and Montrose, as well as the new quayside facility in Dundee opening in 2020, this new site will add to the company’s combined annual licensed tonnage of 360,000 tonnes.

It’s part of John Lawrie’s ethos to maximise the opportunity to reuse or recycle materials in order to minimise disposal. Working directly with Operators, Tier 1 contractors or other waste management companies, the company’s expertise and experience lies in the onshore downsizing, deconstruction, processing, reuse and recycling of a wide range of subsea and other oil and gas related materials.
