With our single-step Duty of Care assurance, once John Lawrie Metals receive your scrap material at our site, we are able to route this for recycling within the ArcelorMittal group from the smelting process all the way through to the steel manufacture.

By transferring scrap metal internally to ArcelorMittal recycling facilities which use Electric Arc Furnaces with 100% scrap metal and powered by 100% independently verified renewable energy, the produced XCarb™ steel product has a carbon footprint of around 300kg of CO2 per tonne of finished steel; significantly lower than that of both new steel and traditionally recycled steel.
